Josef von Fuehrich (1800 Kratzau/Bohemia - 1876 Vienna) was a renowned Austrian historical painter and one of the best representatives of the Nazarene Art. Together with Koch, Schnorr and Veit he worked (under the supervision of Overbeck) on frescoes at the Villa Massimi in Rome. Fuehrich was professor at the Vienna Academy, teacher and an ongoing inspiration for many Austrian painters.
