Made in the manner of famous Austrian Neoclassical artist, Professor Friedrich Heinrich Fueger (for comparison, see our web #35936 and #35407), this miniature portrait of a young girl from highly aristocratic family is in our strong believe a work of one of Fueger's pupils from the Vienna Academy.
The first artist who comes into mind is Johann Baptist Anker (1770-after 1824; for his other works in our possession, CLICK HERE and see our comparison image nr. 7).

Johann Baptist Anker (or Ancker) was born in 1770 in Ettenheim by Strasbourg and died after 1824. From 1780 he lived in Vienna, studying at the Vienna Academy under Friedrich Heinrich Fueger, who influenced him a great deal. There are only few of his miniatures (especially on ivory) that are known. Some of them belong to important museum collections: Vienna Museum of Applied Arts, Viennese "Albertina", etc.
