The sitter wears an uniform of an junior (due to his belt!) officer of Austrian Infantry Regiment - either No.11 or No. 51 (uniform of both of them had dark-blue collar and yellow (color is here regenerated) buttons)). His tall collar provides lower time border of this portrait - such collars were introduced earliest in 1805.
As demonstrates our comparison image nr.8 this miniature seems to be a work of Bohemian (Czech)( artist Jan (Johann) Mayer. Also place of regiment's dislocation - Prague - speaks in favour of this attribution.
Jan Mayer was born in 1764 in Weseric, Bohemia (now Bezdruzice, Czech Republic) and died in 1809 in Prague. He was active between 1802-1809 in Prague ass a portrait miniaturist.
Jan (Johann) Mayer was born in ca.1764 in Slavice (at that time - Austrian province Bohemia; present day Czech Republic), and died in 1809 in Prague. He lived in Prague from 1802.
