Franz (František Bohumil) Doubek (1865 Ceské Budejovice, Czech Republic - 1952 Nový Jicín) was a very well-known Czech artist. He studied at the Munich Academy as pupil of O.Seitz and A.v.Liezen-Mayer. After finishing his studies Doubek remained in Munich where he specialized in portrait, genre and historical painting. Numerous exhibitions of his works took place in major European cities such as Munich, Prague, Berlin and Vienna. Doubek was also known as a first-rate illustrator.
