At an early age, from a shell explosion, he became hearing- and (subsequently) speech-impaired. However, his disabilities had not impacted his career as an artist. In 1957-1963 he attended the Odesa Art College and in 1964-1969 continued his education at the Lviv Institute of Applied Arts. Tiamushkin showed his works from 1963 at regional and republican exhibitions in Odesa, Lviv, Kiyv, etc. In 1997 two personal exhibitions of the artist took place in Odesa and Lviv.
